This supplementary course provides an introduction to the analysis of data in the corporate environment and offers students the opportunity to work on exciting case studies with real data sets using modern software.

Learning objectives

  • Develop a sense for the potential of data mining methods to improve the profitability of companies.
  • Consolidation of previous knowledge in the field of data analysis. Independent processing of data mining projects and identification of economically significant data patterns.
  • Understanding of the phases and tasks in CRISP-DM. Promotion of social competence by working on case studies in teamwork.
  • Promotion of technical competence by learning and using current data mining software (Azure ML Studio).

Organisational

Previous knowledge in the field of data mining is recommended, but not a prerequisite. After successful participation you will receive a certificate of attendance, which will be an advantage especially in applications for relevant professions.
