Content overview

Many business problems are extremely complex and can hardly be solved optimally by computational methods. In this course, heuristics such as genetic algorithms and simulation methods are therefore examined for their suitability for operational planning and decision support on the basis of numerous practical examples.

Learning objectives

Students gain knowledge about the functionality and methods of artificial intelligence, the possible applications in the context of business planning as well as the ability to discuss the limits and the economic efficiency of its use.
